"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."

Pablo Picasso was a wise one. Today we looked at some examples of his portraits. The kids declared a lot of it was 'ugly'! But they were still fascinated by Picasso's twisted faces with eyes in odd places! They created their own collages and then we moved onto Picasso stylee portraits using oil pastels. I was impressed at how they understood Picasso's idea to portray faces from different angles within one portrait and tried very hard to mimic it. One little girl included different emotions in her portrait too. Brilliant.
