Summer Art - Cubism

I love that man! Yes I know it's a bit weird to have a crush on a dead artist...anyhow...

on Wednesday my summer group looked at the wonderful Picasso. Children are always naturally intrigued by Picasso and his original and bizarre approach. I think it's because Picasso never lost his inner child and his Cubist art is totally bonkers! Kids love bonkers.

After making some wacky face collages, we talked about 'profiles' and how to include them in face-on self-portaits. We used oil pastels which always look and feel lovely. One little lad insisted on calling his portrait 'his taco'. Like I said, kids love bonkers...:0)
