Hannah Hoch

The kids relished Hoch today and we spent quite a long time looking at her work and giggling at the bizarre creatures that she created. The first artist - female too! - to do photomontage. It's a really accessible technique and children love cutting up pictures and glueing them onto others to create something entirely different. Then because they'd made some strange creatures, conversation turned to aliens and ufo's so they all drew spaceships and rockets afterwards too.
