Monday Art Club: Sonia Delaunay

We looked at the work of Delaunay today and talked about her bright colours and geometric shapes. Using lots of different sized lids, the kids dipped them into paint and made lots of circle art in true Delaunay style. We thought about how we could make it interesting by printing smaller circles inside bigger ones or trying to make one half of the circle one colour and the other a different colour. Afterwards, we also made some circle collage. We cut circles in half and matched them to others to create a whole new shape. The kids really thought carefully about where to place the shapes before glueing them down.
