Monday Art Club: Arcimboldo

Really fun last session to the 8 week course today. We looked at the Italian artist Arcimboldo. Watched a presentation on him and discussed how he used natural objects in his portraits. Looked at some examples of his art and how some represented the elements of fire, water, earth and air. Led to a little chat about the zodiac as well as Chinese signs. Then we got busy making fruit and veg faces. First using the real stuff - which we ate a lot of afterwards - and then using pictures to glue and stick. Rounding it off with an obstacle course for the much maligned Brussel Sprout. Lots of pics cos it was lots of fun!
