Monday Art Club: Marc Quinn

Monday art clubbers looked at the artist sculptor Marc Quinn today. They were surprised to hear he's still alive as according to them most artists are dead! We looked at some of Quinn's key works which include 'Self' - sculptures of his head made out of his own frozen blood. One lad said 'it makes me feel weird but it's very interesting'. We also looked at another of his sculptures made of his own excrement. The kids were appalled and delighted! When I then announced that today they would be making sculptures with their own blood and poo, there was a stunned silence. Was very funny. Instead, we used polystyrene heads and lots of craft materials and paints.
