Was a loud and lively session on British sculptor Marc Quinn today because we looked at his work called 'Self'...sculptures of his head made from his own frozen blood that reflect the ageing process. This of course led to chatting about art using bodily fluids and we looked at a sculpture of Venus de Milo by a Chinese artist, made from panda poo. And another artist who made 'art' from his own urine in the shape of Iron Man. I find most kids relish conversations about poo and wee!
They got busy using a variety of materials to create their own 'Self' and one little girl managed to make her foam head so spooky that she scared herself!
