Hokusai
Thursday's bunch looked at Japan's most famous artist Hokusai. We watched a little animation and learnt all about how unusual he was. They were particularly impressed with him painting two birds on a grain of rice. So we thought we'd give it a go with toothpicks and ink. Insanely difficult. We all agreed that they must have bigger rice in Japan! We focussed on The Great Wave and the kids created some beautiful sea pictures with Mount Fuji in the background. Best bit is flicking white paint sea spray all over it.
