Hokusai
Japan's most famous artist is such a winner with the kids. He was an eccentric man who loved to live life on the edge and experiment with his art. He painted birds on grains of rice (we tried too!) as well as a portrait on such a huge piece of paper on the floor that you could only tell what it was from bird's eye view. And of course he painted stunning pictures and wood cuts of nature at her most powerful. And kids just LOVE volcanoes. This group really relished recreating Hokusai's Great Wave and Mt Fuji today. One of my fave artists to talk about.
