A little lad had previously requested a workshop on Escher so that's what we did today. We looked at some of his art and talked about symmetry and the delicious word 'tessellations'. And we spent a little time looking at examples of 'optical illusions'. This was great fun. I love that moment when your brain suddenly clicks and you see the other stuff in the picture. The kids were gasping when for example, they suddenly saw that the young lady is also an old woman!
Then we tried our lizard tessellation. I think they look ace.
