Ancient human art

Slightly different workshop this week as we didn't focus on one particular artist. Instead, we went back several thousand years to take a look at our ancient human artists. We talked about which animals are often depicted in cave art and we read a story about the teenagers who discovered the Lascaux cave art in France and we experienced a little of what it may have been like to paint those cave roofs. We lay on our backs and drew on paper taped onto the bottom of chairs! We also used lovely earthy coloured pastels and pen to create more cave art and the Wednesday group had time to try their hand at petroglyphs - rock carvings. All very enjoyable!
