Alexander Calder

Warm welcome to my new students and it was a great start to the new art course. Wednesday and Thursday groups looked at the wonderful sculptor and artist Alexander Calder, inventor of the mobile. A big bear of a man who made beautiful intricate wire sculptures and a miniature travelling circus. The children were totally absorbed making their own wire creations. Some opted for abstract, one made a bug man, another made a cat and all were fantastic!
