Home Ed Workshop: Morisot

Last workshops of 2016. Home edders looked at Berthe Morisot and we talked about how she sold more paintings than Monet and Renoir yet still, so many people haven't heard of her. We looked at Impressionism and how different it was and at the way it captures light and movement. Then the kids created Impressionist landscapes. Got them to think about blending colours and they added things from the 'texture pots' (poppy seeds, dried basil. salt etc) to the paints to create movement and texture in their art. Then it was amusing to watch the Impressionism descend into Abstract Expressionism with a bit of splat painting. Good fun!
