Marc Chagall
'Strange', 'dreamy', 'colourful' and 'crazy' are just some of the adjectives that the kids used this week to describe Russian artist Marc ChagaIl. His work has elements of cubism and surrealism which always appeals to children. Chagall once said 'If I create from the heart, almost everything works; if from the head, almost nothing' and so we discussed this. We also looked at the colour wheel again and at how some colours complement each other. We focussed on his painting I and the Village and the kids created their own village scenes in dreamy pastels.
