Maud Lewis
Yesterday the little artists painted watercolour cats, inspired by Canadian artist Maud Lewis. They were also amazed that she lived for over 30 years in a one-roomed house that had no electricity or indoor plumbing. As a child, she was made fun of for her arthritis, which worsened over the course of her life, gnarling her body and hands. But she overcame her difficulties to produce colourful, cheerful art such as cats amongst tulips and blossom trees. This group REALLY love cats. They named their paintings fab names such as 'The Blossom Brothers', 'The Cuteness Shooters', 'Disco Disturbance' and 'Flying Cats'. 😁
