Nicolas de Stael

Kids tried their hand at still life this week, using the impasto technique of lots of thick paint, inspired by French-Russian artist Nicolas de Stael. Still life can be daunting but De Stael's art is accessible and the kids had fun drawing and painting pears and apples. And they got to eat them afterwards 😃
