Japan Cherry Blossom art

I've got a thing about Japan. It's fascinating and thanks to manga art, loads of kids are into it too. We looked at examples of art from manga, designs on kimonos, calligraphy and architecture. Then we focussed on symbolism as it features a lot. We practised Japanese writing and then using bamboo sticks, watercolours and inks the kids created stunning cherry blossom trees. They chose what to write and it ranged from 'music is freedom and freedom is life' to 'love me' to the more random 'hungry dog' 😁
