"The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled" - Plutarch

I am a highly experienced art and literacy tutor providing a diverse range of workshops and one-to-one tuition suitable for many settings. Please find below information for the various services I provide. For more information, please register your interest.

Literacy Tuition
I'm a literacy and ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) tutor with years of experience. Does your child need help with spelling, grammar, reading or writing? I offer one-to-one tuition.

My approach is very much on kinaesthetic, whole body learning and I incorporate creative methods for children to learn through movement and using all their senses.

I am experienced in teaching SEN children and my own son is dyslexic which has inspired me to find innovative, creative ways to teach. I work at your child's pace and provide fun, stimulating and supportive tuition.

I have also trained in the Word Aware approach which is an inspiring method that teaches spoken and written vocabulary to children of all ages. I teach from age 4 up to GCSE level.

I am based in Hebden Bridge and my rates are £25 p/h.

First consultation to discuss your child's strengths and weaknesses is free.
