Tuesday Art Club: Kandinsky

For the last workshop with this group, we looked at Kandinsky. Starting off with a lovely story about him called 'The Noisy Paintbox' which looks at Kandinsky's condition - Synethesia - in which sensory feedback can be confused. Therefore Kandinsky could literally 'hear' colours and 'see' music. Kids always love learning about this and we had a discussion about what our names would 'taste' like. There were grapes, chocolate, pizza and pomegranates and then we thought about what our names would 'feel' like. Lots of 'soft' and 'squishy'. One boy said 'watery' which was interesting!

Then they made their own version of Kandinsky's Concentric Circles. Lovely.
