Andy Goldsworthy

Invigorating workshops this week as we looked at the fabulous sculptor/photographer/environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy (former resident at YSP). Taking inspiration from him, we ventured outside. Wednesday it was freezing and Thursday we got caught in torrential rain but not a single child wanted to go back inside. We watched some clips on Goldworthy's art and his stunning creations using nature. He works with natural objects and found tools. We battled the elements and worked with pinecones, leaves, stones, twigs and berries. Then we defrosted ourselves with hot chocs and marshmallows.
