Ta Thimkaeo

This week we discovered the strange, surreal but captivating art of Thai artist, Ta Thimkaeo. The kids particularly liked her 'egg girl' series in which a fried egg is the girl's face! Thimkaeo was inspired by her childhood memories of having a fried egg every day for lunch and how her school friends would tell her that one day she'd turn into an egg. We chatted about the idiom 'to have egg on one's face' and the the kids used paints, charcoal, pastels and pen to create their own egg faces.
