Symbolism

This week we focussed on an art movement referred to as Symbolism. After a chat about what it actually means and a look at some symbolism art - The Wounded Angel by Hugo Simberg for example, shows what happens when idealism meets reality - we took Edvard Munch's the Scream as a starting point for our own screams. The Scream symbolises Munch's horror at how industrialisation was impacting on nature. The kids had to think about things they'd scream about....spiders, climate change, bad hair days 😁
